![]() Guess what you did when you were far back from your team, finding a spot to setup as sentry? you had a self heal so you didnt have to bother your healers to come find you every time Guess what you did when genji deflects mid fight? you heal up the damage he dealt to you Guess what you did when a dva dived you and held Defense matrix while spamming missles on you? You self healed during that downtime This lack of defenses was mitigated by the fact that you could heal, self healing helped a lot to cover for the down time of bastion, while he moved, or while he was being attacked No defensive abilities other than a passive.One of the biggest issues of the removal of self repair is that bastion has: They said they want bastion to play as a psudo-sniper with his new gun, but the question is Why? bastion does NOT have the ability to get to high ground to snipe at enemies, he also has a huge hitbox, Why would he play as a psudo sniper? I…dont have much to say about this ability…its kind of more of a “Why?” kind of thing? it just doesnt feel right on bastion The ability to remain in sentry indefinetly is what separated the good bastion players against the bad bastion players, bad bastion players would just pick a spot and sit there and just be predicteable, where a smart team could easily predict their location and kill them, Good bastion players constantly remain on the move to catch their oponents by suprise There is also part of the skillset of bastion to know when its the right time to remain in that mode, and when its the right time to move, however that decision is no longer necesary as the game holds your hand and forcibly removes you from sentry It went from this big power moment, but one you had to handle with care with its tradeoff to just…another boring cooldown ability. Right now based on the playtests, his damage feels…very low on sentry, it took him like what, 2 to 3 seconds to finish off that winston? maybe more? The sentry mode damage reduction in my opinion kind of ruins the point of having sentry, The point was this big tradeoff (mobility) for this big reward (insane damage) As someone who has played bastion pretty much the most out of any hero in overwatch (check my profile if you dont believe me, its public) i want to voice my concerns over the bastion reworks, going 1 by 1 for each ability first then adressing some common responses:
